Newcastle United have £16m decision to make amid huge calls from supporters

**Newcastle United will already be in the planning stages for the January transfer window, especially now that we actually have a sporting director in place.**

The Newcastle recruitment team could already have a big decision to make with one player already contemplating his future with the club.

Aaron Ramsdale arrived at Newcastle on loan in the summer as backup for Nick Pope and has impressed in his few appearances.

In fact, after a string of errors by Nick Pope in the last few games, fans are screaming for Aaron Ramsdale to be given a chance as first-choice, a call that we definitely back.

Ramsdale wants to stay at Newcastle

Aaron Ramsdale is keen to make his loan move a permanent one

------------------------------------------------------------

[The Chronicle](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aaron-ramsdale-makes-newcastle-united-32833060) have now reported that Ramsdale is keen to turn his loan move into a permanent one, particularly with his parent club, Southampton, struggling in the Championship and looking unlikely to mount a promotion challenge.

With the World Cup also on the horizon, Ramsdale will know that playing in the Premier League is his best shot of getting into Thomas Tuchel's thoughts, but of course, he will first have to displace Nick Pope.

Southampton have reportedly set a £20 million asking price for Ramsdale, but as Newcastle paid a £4 million loan fee, we're sure Ross Wilson could get away with just paying £16 million to make the move permanent.

It's time to give Rambo a chance!

---------------------------------

In the two games Ramsdale has started, and indeed the appearance he made on Sunday, he has looked a lot more assured than Pope with the ball at his feet, and his distribution is much better.

He's also proven to be a good shot stopper and doesn't seem to be scared of trying to catch the ball.

Nick Pope will have recovered from his concussion in time for the next game, and we know how much Eddie Howe loves him, but we hope that Ramsdale is given a chance to prove himself and potentially earn a permanent move to the club.
