Liverpool have faced a challenging few weeks on the pitch following their disappointing run of form.
In their latest Premier League outing, Liverpool were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday (9 November).
Liverpool backed Arne Slot with multiple new signings in the recent summer transfer window, with the club spending £446million.
Sporting director Richard Hughes has been spearheading Liverpool’s transfers since arriving from Bournemouth in June 2024.
It was reported earlier this month that Hughes has attracted interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, but it is expected he will remain at Anfield.

Richard Hughes could land huge pay rise
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Hughes could be offered a “very lucrative” deal to move to the Middle East.
Saudi clubs have agreed deals for various Premier League stars over the past couple of years, but it appears senior members of staff are now also on their radar.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the possibility of Hughes heading to Saudi, Borson said: “With the greatest respect, the money is probably the only reason that you would consider that switch.
“I’m sure it’s a very lucrative move that would be proposed. It will be a multiple of his salary for a period. It’s not just a football issue.
“There are lots of opportunities in the Middle East that people take for the money and for the tax situation. There’s no reason why football should be any different. I think that’s particularly on the executive side.”

Michael Edwards was also previously linked with a move to Saudi, but Fenway Sports Group’s chief executive of football remains a key employee of Liverpool’s ownership group.
Liverpool chief could be tempted by ‘interesting’ offer
Borson insisted a move to Saudi could be an “interesting” proposition for someone likes Hughes given the money on offer.
“I think it’s a little bit different on the playing side, just because it is a completely different career if you’re playing in your prime in Saudi Arabia versus playing in one of the major leagues in Europe,” said Borson.
“That is a different ballgame. But if you’re an operator, and you’re a business person, then you’re always a hired hand.
“If somebody’s prepared to pay you a multiple of your salary, then of course it’s going to be interesting.”
Hughes was involved in the deal that saw Liverpool sell Darwin Nunez to Al-Hilal in the latest summer transfer window.
