The Giants' Brian Daboll became the second NFL coach to be fired this season, but the seat of an NFC rival got even hotter over the weekend.

Matt LaFleur's Packers mustered up just seven points at home as they lost to the Eagles, and while Green Bay is still in the playoff hunt with a 5-3-1 record, the coach has come under intense scrutiny following the loss.

The Athletic's Matt Schneidman wrote that it's 'not far-fetched to think Matt LaFleur is coaching for his job,' and said that his run of early postseason exits is not good enough for Green Bay.

LaFleur has an impressive 72-35-1 regular season record, but is just 3-5 in the playoffs - with the team five years removed from their last conference championship appearance.

And his offense has sputtered in recent weeks, scoring just 20 combined points against the Eagles and Panthers and - more troublingly - averaging just 6.43 first-half points over their last seven contests, per The Athletic.

Green Bay's defense has been stout following the addition of Micah Parsons, but the Packers offense has lagged behind, and Schneidman wrote that the unit may need to improve over the rest of the season for LaFleur to keep his job.

The article also noted that LaFleur did not have his contract (which runs out next year) extended before this season, and the coach was coy when asked about his job security after the game.

'I'll leave that for everybody else to decide. I'll just focus on the day-to-day... I feel like you're always coaching for everything in this league, you know?,' he said.

'That's just my mindset. It's always been that way. You can't ever exhale. You gotta always be pushing. That's just my mindset and that will be my mindset 'til they tell me not to coach anymore.'

Against the Eagles, the Packers produced just 261 yards of offense and gave away two fumbles as well.

Philadelphia were not exactly at their best either but narrowly outgained their hosts (294 yards) and opened up a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter when DeVonta Smith caught a 36-yard touchdown from Jalen Hurts.

Daboll became the second coaching casualty of this NFL season after the Giants lost 24-20 to the Bears, giving them a 2-8 record on the year.

His dismissal followed that of Tennessee's Brian Callahan, who had overseen a 1-5 record this year and a 4-19 mark dating back to last season.

The Packers currently occupy the last wild card spot in the NFC, but will look to get back on track this weekend at the Giants.
