Following the Miami Dolphins‘ upset win against the Buffalo Bills, there appeared to be a situation after the game regarding head coach Mike McDaniel. Photos emerged online of McDaniel driving by a popular bar where Bills fans meet up following the win, which the head coach has now responded to.
The Dolphins‘ victory wasn’t just significant in the sense that it was the first time the team beat the Bills since 2022, but it was more so a win that signaled a change could be coming. Miami making the playoffs is a slim chance, but they could go on a run and end the season with a winning record.
A dominant 30-13 win over the Bills could be the right kind of confidence the Dolphins need to finish strong, and also to help keep McDaniel employed. That said, the head coach decided to pay Bills fans a visit, which went instantly viral.
Photos and videos showcased what appeared to be McDaniel driving by in his car to specifically troll Bills fans following the big win. However, the head coach decided to provide a hilarious response to the rumors that he purposely drove by the Buffalo bar takeover.
“I miss the good ol days. The throwback of yore where you could trust the internet and the images. It is pretty detailed, and I do live in that area. But I mean, AI, right?”
When reporters further probed and asked McDaniel if he is confirming or denying that he drove by the Elbo Room, he responded with another hilarious comment.
“I live in that area, AI is real, that’s what I got for you,” McDaniel quipped.
It might be a bit undeniable that the images and videos prove that McDaniel drove by the bar in question. However, he chose to seemingly blame the viral incident on AI.
Fans weren’t the only ones who saw the images, as Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill took to X to also laugh at McDaniel’s extracurricular.
‘I see coach back on that pettt dog shiii I love it,” Hill said in a post on X.
If it was McDaniel or not, the Dolphins are now 3-7 on the season, and are heading into a favorable schedule. They face the ailing Washington Commanders in Madrid, Spain on Sunday, then have a Week 12 bye, followed by matchups against the New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Cincinnati Bengals.
There is a real chance the Dolphins can have a 7-7 record by the time Week 16 rolls around. It is a long shot, but at least McDaniel appears to be celebrating wins in a way that has resonated with fans and his own players.
