Newcastle United ‘confident’ Sven Botman will sign a new contract
Speaking exclusively to Geordie Boot Boys, transfer insider Graeme Bailey has provided details on the upcoming contract talks between Newcastle United and Sven Botman.
“Botman is next in line for a new contract,” he said.
“Talks are due between the club and his representatives. Newcastle are quietly confident about him signing a new deal. I suspect that will be Ross Wilson’s first big contract renewal as sporting director.
“They are going to reward him following his excellent form, and they do not appear to be worried about the interest from elsewhere in him. They believe his future is on Tyneside and are fully committed to tying him down to a new deal.”

Tino Livramento could be next with his Newcastle United deal expiring in 2028
Geordie Boot Boys also understand that Newcastle United want to extend Tino Livramento’s contract. His current deal runs until 2028, having signed for five years when he arrived from Southampton in 2023.
However, Bailey has stated that the club’s current priority with Livramento is ensuring he recovers fully from the knee injury he suffered in September. The 22-year-old will be desperate to return to his best form, as he eyes a place in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the 2026 World Cup.
“With Livramento, I think they are letting him concentrate on getting fit,” he said.
“He will have eyes on returning to the side and getting back into the England squad with the 2026 World Cup looming.
“He’s suddenly got quite a bit of competition at right-back and left-back. Reece James, Djed Spence and Nico O’Reilly are all playing well.”
