In-demand Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson is a transfer target for Manchester United, with the Red Devils having registered 'concrete interest' in the 23-year-old.

That's according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, who claims that the Reds have been informed of United's interest, but they will need deep pockets to secure and future deal.

Anderson's outstanding form for Forest last season helped them to ultimately secure a Europa League place and although this season has not gone to plan, he has started every Premier League game for the Reds this campaign, with a goal and an assist to his name.

The former Newcastle United player's form earned him an international call-up, and he has four England caps to his name so far. He is also part of Thomas Tuchel's lastest squad that is set to face Serbia and Latvia in World Cup qualifiers next week.

Interest in Anderson is growing with a host of top clubs believed to be seeking his services, but having signed a five-year deal with Forest in 2024, the Reds can command a hefty fee, should they decide to cash in on one of their prize assets.

Posting on X, Plettenberg wrote: "Understand Manchester United remain keen on Elliot Anderson and have registered concrete interest. Forest are informed. A fee in the region of £100–120 million is still being demanded."

Anderson's profile of a dynamic midfielder is exactly what United boss Ruben Amorim is looking for, according to the Mirror. But they are likely to face competition from both Manchester City and Chelsea, opening up the prospect of a bidding war.

Having made his England debut in September, the player will be desperate to be part of England's World Cup squad in Canada, Mexico and the USA next year and may see a transfer to one of the Premier League's biggest clubs as the next phase in his career.

But having bought him from the Magpies for £35million, Forest stand to make a huge profit should they agree to let Anderson move on at the end of the season.
