John Terry Praises "Absolutely Petrifying" Forward Who Gives Chelsea A Unique Attacking Threat

**Chelsea legend John Terry claims Alejandro Garnacho can strike fear into imposing defenders because of the attributes he possesses.**

Speaking after the Argentinian international created two goals against Wolves at the weekend, Terry said that [**Garnacho**](https://chelseanews.com/blog/chelsea-news-alejandro-garnacho-fans/) has qualities that the club’s other wide options lack:

“I also want to touch on how good Garnacho was yesterday. Absolutely petrifying as a defender when you’re facing someone that quick and that direct. He gives us something the other wingers don’t as well.”

“That’s what you want to see as a Chelsea fan, players like that beating players. It doesn’t always have to be with loads of skill.”

Garnacho is beginning to show what he can offer

-----------------------------------------------

The 21-year-old initially flattered to deceive after joining the Blues from Manchester United for £40m. He was running down blind alleys and snatching at shots when being presented with opportunities to score.

Garnacho’s finishing still leaves a lot to be desired, as we saw when he fumbled a chance early on against Wolves, but his technique and decision-making are getting better.

The way he found space for his cross to Malo Gusto was top drawer, using his quick feet before executing a pinpoint delivery. In some ways, though, his second assist for Pedro Neto was more impressive. He saw his teammate free in the box and produced the right ball for Neto to finish easily.

Chelsea have strong competition on the wings

--------------------------------------------

With Garnacho and Estevao playing consistently well at the moment, it is up to Neto and Jamie Gittens to make sure they keep up with them.

Neto has always been a bit hit and miss with his performances, and there will come a time soon that Estevao will move ahead of him for starts in the big matches if he can’t up his game.

The situation on the opposite wing with Gittens and Garnacho is slightly different. Gittens has produced one or two great performances, mixed in with some stinkers. He won’t be getting ahead of Garnacho unless he can address his inconsistency.
