Gabriel has been voted by our supporters as our men’s Player of the Month winner for October.
Our Brazilian centre-back polled 45% of the votes to take the prize, beating competition from Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and Bukayo Saka to claim our club award for the sixth time in his Gunners tenure, and his second of 2025 following his triumph in January.
October was a massive month for us as we ended it unbeaten, just as in September, recording six straight wins against Olympiacos, West Ham United, Fulham, Atletico Madrid, Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion to march on in three competitions.
Vital to those efforts was Big Gabi, who was part of a backline that didn’t concede a goal in all of those victories, setting the foundation to match a club record for successive clean sheets.
He was also a menace at the other end of the field, scoring the all-important first goal against Atletico Madrid, as well as providing an assist for Viktor Gyokeres later in that game.
He then got another assist when he nodded across goal for Leandro Trossard to score the winner at Fulham, and his set-piece prowess played a key part in Ebere Eze’s crucial strike against Crystal Palace to keep the winning run going.
