Chelsea are interested in Galatasaray defender Wilfried Singo as they look for ways to strengthen their defense in January. After a strong start in Turkey after moving from Monaco in the summer, club scouts have been keeping an eye on the Ivorian.
Singo signed a five-year deal with Galatasaray on August 28, 2025, for €30.8 million. Monaco will get a 10% profit if they sell him. He has played a lot this fall and can play right-back or center-back.
He made his debut with the Ivory Coast senior team in 2021 and has played in more than 30 games. He started his senior career at Torino, where he played four seasons in Serie A. In 2023, he moved to Monaco. He played 60 times in the Principality over the course of two seasons before moving to Istanbul.
Chelsea’s recruitment team places a lot of emphasis on defensive depth to manage their workload and rotate players across domestic and European games. Singo is 1.90m tall, recovers quickly, and is comfortable playing as a third center-back or on the right side of a back four.
Chelsea 3-0 Wolves: Second-half surge lifts Blues to third
Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Wolves was built on control after a wasteful first half. The outcome showed a clear difference in the second half, with three goals in 22 minutes deciding the game.
The Blues were in charge for the first 45 minutes and made clear chances, but they couldn’t score before the break. Wolves didn’t pose much of a threat and sat deep under interim coaches James Collins and Richard Walker.
Malo Gusto broke the tie in the 51st minute with a header from Alejandro Garnacho’s cross. At the 65th minute, Joao Pedro scored a powerful goal with his right foot to make it 2-0. Pedro Neto scored a third goal from inside the box against his old team in the 73rd minute.
After Matchweek 11, Chelsea’s win put them in second place in the Premier League table. The performance included aggressive pressing and better efficiency after the break. Wolves stayed at the bottom, have not won a game this season, and have struggled to score goals.
