**Newcastle United have a few players they could do with tying down to new deals after the mess that occurred during the summer with Alexander Isak.**
Part of the Sweden international's revolt was triggered by what he saw as broken promises after being told he'd be offered new terms before Paul Mitchell refused to negotiate with the striker shortly after arriving as sporting director.
What happened next was hugely disruptive to the entire club, and the Magpies will be keen to avoid a repeat of such a thing with several stars in line for improved terms.
One of whom is thought to be Sven Botman, who was signed from Lille for £35 million in 2022.

Botman has had his injury problems at Newcastle, which has slightly hampered his progress, but when he's fit, he proves time and time again that he's a top-class defender, which is why he is being heavily linked with a move to Liverpool or Chelsea.

Sven Botman is seen as an important piece of Eddie Howe's squad and has often been seen as one of the core players to build the team around.
He's formed an outstanding partnership with Malick Thiaw this season and tying him down to a new deal with improved terms will show the faith the club has in him and hopefully will ward off the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool.
Hopefully, Botman will feel that he owes Newcastle a bit of loyalty after being unavailable for so long through injury and the deal will get wrapped up quickly and easily.
