The Los Angeles Rams are one of the most dangerous teams in the NFL and the NFC. Sitting at 7-2, they could battle it out with the Seattle Seahawks for the NFC crown in the playoffs. Amid their four-game winning streak, the Rams have now bolstered their roster with the addition of a Super Bowl champion tight end.
Matthew Stafford is playing an MVP-caliber season, throwing a fourth-best 2,427 yards, a league-leading 25 passing touchdowns, and a fourth-best 114.8 passer rating. Simply put, he is having an incredible season.
The Rams’ offense is full of playmakers in Kyren Williams, Puka Nacua, and more. The defense has also stepped up, as they are tied for fourth-most takeaways with 14.
Los Angeles has a stacked team on both sides of the ball, but the front office is doing its due diligence to add quality players amid the team’s winning streak.
Per Tom Pelissero, the Rams are signing Nick Muse to the practice squad. Muse previously played for the Minnesota Vikings between the 2022 and 2024 seasons. He also joined the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024, securing a Super Bowl win with the team.
Muse has played in minimal action in the NFL, appearing in 16 games in three total seasons. However, he is young in his football career and could offer a boost to the Rams’ practice squad, and potentially be elevated to the active roster should he impress.
Most good teams often bring in roster additions as the season progresses, and can often find proverbial diamonds in the rough through this process. Muse may not be a Pro Bowl-quality player yet, but Sean McVay could help to coach him up to be impactful.
The Rams are neck-and-neck with the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West, and adding a tight end would could potentially be a big factor in the blocking game is a smart move.
Teams adding depth is also never a bad idea. The Rams started the season off with multiple injuries, but the team has slowly gotten healthier at time. Muse may not be a factor initially, but he could step in should more injuries pop up in blocking situations on the offense.
