“We’ll See How it Goes”: Seattle Seahawks Blocker Out Indefinitely

Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman Jalen Sundell suffered an apparent knee injury during the second quarter of Week 10 against the Arizona Cardinals and did not return for the remainder of the game. He underwent an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury. Sundell had a solid start to his first season as the starting center, allowing six pressures and zero sacks across nine starts, according to PFF.

During Monday’s press conference, Mike Macdonald provided an injury update on Jalen Sundell, as reported by Brady Henderson of ESPN. Macdonald said the starting center will undergo knee surgery, though the injury isn’t believed to be season-ending. Sundell is expected to miss multiple weeks, making him a prime injured reserve candidate.

“He’s tough as crap,” Macdonald said, via Henderson. “We’ll see how it goes, but hopefully, we’ll get him back.”

Olu Oluwatimi will take over as the starting center for the timebeing. The former fifth-round pick took over as the starting center for the second half of last season following Connor Williams’ sudden retirement. Oluwatimi lost the starting job to Jalen Sundell during training camp and filled in for the remainder of Week 10.
