Leeds United's relegation rivals consider shock sacking - 49ers must be alert

Leeds United’s attempts to stay in the Premier League this season will see them look to drag top-flight mainstays into the mire, including Fulham.

Nottingham Forest’s win against Leeds, and hopeful turnaround under Sean Dyche puts a lot of pressure on United and Burnley, who sit just outside the bottom three heading into this international break.

After 11 games, the bottom six of the table looks to have taken a fairly vivid shape with Leeds’ task clear to stay up.

Are Leeds United going to be competing with Fulham for survival this season?

Wolves look doomed for relegation as things stand, winless and on just two points from 11 games. Forest and West Ham make up the rest of the bottom three, but managerial changes could spark significant upticks for both.

Just above that are Burnley and Leeds, in a position many largely expected them to be in when the season started. But, just above United are Marco Silva’s Fulham after a pretty underwhelming summer window and poor start to the campaign.

The Cottagers have three wins on the board so far. One of those saw them fluke their way past Leeds at Craven Cottage, as Gabriel Gudmundsson headed into his own goal under no pressure in added time. In truth, it’s a victory that papers over massive cracks. Without that late winner, they’d be in the bottom three.

The 48-year-old is stalling on talks over a new contract. As a result, it’s leading to friction behind the scenes that could contribute to his dismissal, alongside his sub-par form.

Fulham’s hierarchy becoming frustrated could lead to a decision soon on the Portuguese manager, who is not happy with their summer recruitment.

49ers must be alerted to Fulham’s Marco Silva situation as Leeds United, Daniel Farke decision looms

Fulham losing Silva would be a huge boost to United’s battle to stay in the division. He’s perhaps the main reason that Fulham haven’t been in relegation trouble (until now) since their promotion in 2022.

He has worked remarkably with the squad he’s been given at Craven Cottage. And, losing him would not be good for their chances of survival.

As for Leeds, if the decision does come soon on Farke as many fans expect, Silva is absolutely someone to keep an eye on.

He would be the perfect manager for our situation, as he’s shown at Fulham for multiple years.
