Around the NBA, there haven't been many more impressive teams than the Chicago Bulls, who sit in fourth place in the Eastern Conference at 6-3. The Bulls have dropped two straight, but have ultimately played well throughout the entire year.
They’ve gotten some big-time help from Josh Giddey, a youngster who is really forming into a potential All-Star caliber player.
However, it still seems like the Bulls are lacking talent in some sense, at least compared to some of the other top teams in the East and Western conferences.
There could be a star available eventually, with Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies, who is obviously a bit disgruntled with his current situation.
When examining possible landing spots for Morant, Jonah Kubicek of Heavy.com listed the Bulls as one of them, stating that the Bulls could move on from Coby White to the Grizzlies, which would allow Memphis to get back an above-average guard in return.
"If Memphis decides it wants to land an established star to pair with Jackson Jr., its options are limited. After all, most teams with a core of great players aren't looking to make a splash.
"The Atlanta Hawks, Dallas Mavericks, and Chicago Bulls are the exceptions… Finally, the Bulls have taken the East by storm this season. Josh Giddey is thriving in the backcourt with Tre Jones, and Morant would be a clear upgrade. The Bulls could send the currently-injured Coby White to Memphis, allowing the Grizzlies to center on White instead of Morant," he wrote.
It’s not the worst idea to go star hunting in the NBA, but the Bulls also have to decide if they believe the fit makes sense with the rest of the roster.
With Giddey playing the type of basketball he has to start the season, currently averaging an impressive 21.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 9.3 assists, all while shooting well from 3-point range, it might not be the best idea to break that up to get Morant more touches.
