The Cleveland Browns are facing serious jeopardy after their Week 10 loss to the New York Jets. It feels like they have promised to end this season in the worst way possible.

And the vulnerable QB room is the primary source of tension for everyone. With Dillon Gabriel struggling through his first five starts and Shedeur Sanders sitting on the bench, every call Stefanski makes now feels like it could cost him his job.
A popular sports analyst dropped a harsh truth about the coaching staff’s impossible situation. No matter who starts next season, Stefanski might already be cooked.
Bomani Jones Questions Kevin Stefanski’s Options
Sports analyst Bomani Jones laid out the harsh reality during Monday’s episode of “The Right Time with Bomani Jones.” No matter which quarterback takes snaps going forward, Jones believes Stefanski has backed himself into a corner with zero good moves remaining.
Dillon Gabriel is the current starting quarterback who took over for Joe Flacco after Week 4. But fans are frustrated watching his continuous flop show.
Despite the stat line, the performance did nothing to quiet the growing chorus calling for Shedeur Sanders to get his shot. Jones explained why Stefanski is cooked either way.
“If you go to Shedeur, you have no other play to make. And I suppose that with a very young quarterback like Gabriel, you can go back to him because, like, how dare he?” Jonessaid. “What room does he have to say anything about it?”
This whole situation is a lose-lose for Kevin Stefanski 😳
“If you press the Shedeur button, you better hope he balls. But if he does, that’s not a good look either … So basically why don’t they go ahead and fire that man right now.” pic.twitter.com/4JLn5wm5Kr

The analyst pointed out that pulling the trigger on Sanders means burning your last card.
“But it’s still really absurd that they’re at a place now where it’s just like, ‘Hey man, we have nothing else that we can do.’ And so once you push the Shedeur button, you better hope he balls. But on the other hand, if he does, that’s not a good look either. So basically, why don’t they just go ahead and fire that man right now?”
Sanders delivered a juice outing in the preseason with two touchdown passes, but Gabriel has struggled through five starts. The problem is that Stefanski still hasn’t made a change, suggesting the staff doubts Sanders is ready. And with jobs on the line, it’s also clear the Browns don’t fully trust him to lead the offense yet.
Defense Shines While Offense Remains a Trainwreck
The Browns sit last in the AFC North at 2-7, but their defense is among the league’s best, allowing just 264.9 yards per game. While the defense performs at an elite level, the offense has no idea about its target.
On Monday, Stefanski told reporters that quarterback Cade Gabriel remains the starter and praised the rookie for working hard to correct his mistakes.
“We’re committed to getting better as an offense. Dillon is certainly committed to improving in every way he can. And all the while, our young players are developing and working hard behind the scenes to make sure they’re improving on a daily basis,” Stefanski said.
The coach didn’t sugarcoat how the team played against the Jets. He specifically highlighted the special teams blunders that contributed to the loss.
“Obviously, you can’t give up two return touchdowns. That set us back and we didn’t do a good enough job in any facet. That’s the disappointing part for me and this football team. But we’re just going to keep swinging, he added.
Despite the outside noise getting louder by the day, Stefanski is sticking to his guns. But he must make his move now since Gabriel’s production is in no way promising. Either way, there is very little room left for mistakes.
