Manchester City star Tijani Reijnders has reacted with shock when his own transfer value was put to him.
[Voetbal Primeur cover the situation](https://www.voetbalprimeur.nl/nieuws/1711027/reijnders-pareert-kritiek-op-oranje-middenveld.html) today after Reijnders was interviewed by Ziggo Sport in the Netherlands.
He was largely focusing on the debate of whether he, Ryan Gravenberch and Frenkie de Jong can play together for Ronald Koeman’s side. The ongoing belief, at this point, is that the trio is not a functional one for the Netherlands.
The Manchester City midfielder doesn’t agree with that viewpoint and thinks the trio can work well.
“We’re guys who like to have the ball at our feet, but that doesn’t mean we don’t complement each other,” he said.
“We all know what’s required in a match, and then we have to adapt accordingly.”
Reijnders and Gravenberch are currently considered among the most valuable Dutch players on the market thanks to their performances at Manchester City and Liverpool.
Gravenberch is the most valuable, with Transfermarkt putting him at €75m. The Manchester City man is rated at €70m alongside the likes of Cody Gakpo and Xavi Simons.
That comes after an impressive start to life at Manchester City after he joined them for €57m from AC Milan in the summer transfer window. That figure could go up to €70m based on various potential add-ons.
The figure is news to Reijnders. He is happy to admit he’s left shocked by such a valuation being put on him.
“Wow, that’s high,” he added.
“I occasionally check out former teammates on Transfermarkt to see how they’re doing. But I haven’t looked into my own situation. Last time I knew how much I was bought for, I was surprised. But it was a nice compliment from Transfermarkt.”
