Yerson Mosquera has not been a regular for Wolves this season.
The Colombian has made only four Premier League appearances, and last started a league game back in September.
A serious knee injury early in the 2024/25 campaign derailed his progress at Wolves, given all of that it’s now reported an exit from Molineux could be a possibility.
Tuttomercatoweb’s Niccolo Ceccarini spoke to RTV38 about Fiorentina’s approach to the January transfer window.
He placed special emphasis on how La Viola could improve their backline and midfield, subsequently he mentioned Wolves’ Mosquera as a potential target.
The journalist said, relayed by FirenzeViola: “ For the defence, there are two interesting players abroad: Yerson Mosquera from Wolverhampton and Zeno Van den Bosh from Antwerp, two defenders who could shore up a department that is currently struggling.”
This shows that the 24-year-old has admirers in Europe, despite struggles this season.
Early in the 2024/25 season, Mosquera impressed. He had some very good performances against Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle United.
Unfortunately, the knee injury prevented him from getting better. Now, Fiorentina could be a good opportunity for him to prove his skills, depending how Wolves see things.
The Florence club themselves have struggled in Serie A – like Wolves in the Premier League. La Viola are starting afresh under new manager Paolo Vanoli, who primarily uses a back-three.
