Newcastle United once again linked with Serie A midfielder amid latest Joelinton injury

**Joelinton picked up another injury at the weekend, giving Eddie Howe a potential headache when selecting his Newcastle United midfield.**

Jacob Ramsey joined Newcastle in the summer, but he has already spent time on the sidelines through injury, and Eddie Howe must be contemplating adding another midfielder to his squad to mitigate this problem.

It's not just Joelinton's injury, which may not be too serious in the first place, but his form has been worryingly poor this season for the most part, and Ramsey hasn't exactly staked much of a claim to his place in the lineup.

While Newcastle fans all have their fingers and toes crossed that we will try to bring Elliot Anderson back home, we don't see that one happening in January, if at all.

Davide Frattesi is back in the Toon rumour mill

Newcastle United are once again linked with a move for Davide Frattesi

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Instead, the rumour mill is churning out a name we saw a lot of over the summer, but one we didn't really cover much on NUFCFEED. Inter Milan's Davide Frattesi.

All of the noise around Frattesi was driven from Italy, and we'd been told that there was nothing in the links between him and Newcastle, so we just let other outlets bang that drum.

However, reports, [once again from Italy](https://www.interlive.it/2025/11/08/inter-riprovaci-a-gennaio-soldi-e-scambio-con-frattesi/), have resurfaced linking Newcastle with a January move for the 26-year-old.

We're not buying it

-------------------

We'd often say there's no smoke without fire, and this rumour has been smouldering for months. However, we've also learned that Italian media have a smoke machine on standby. We only have to look at the constant rumours about Sandro Tonali to realise that Italian journalists have a very loose relationship with the truth.

Davide Frattesi has played fewer than 200 minutes for Inter this season, so he doesn't exactly sound like a good bet to come in and replace Joelinton or even Jacob Ramsey.

We're just not buying this one, but we'll keep an eye on it as it is a name that gained traction in the summer and is now back again, so we'll see.
