When the Celtics take the court for Tuesday’s game against the 76ers, they’ll make history. For the first time ever, the Celtics will wear jerseys that don’t feature their traditional green. Instead, the jerseys are in white and gold as the C’s debut the new look this season.
The gold jerseys are part of the Celtics’ 2025-26 “City Edition” uniforms, dubbed “The Gold Standard.” Here’s a closer look at the jerseys and some more of the details.
The jersey features a few fun details, like Red Auerbach’s signature at the bottom right above the jock tag. The back of the neck also has the 18-time champion patch, which is typical for NBA jerseys.
The Celtics will wear their City Edition uniforms at multiple points throughout the season as a nod to the winningest franchise in league history. It’s a primarily white jersey with gold accents like numbers and “Boston” being featured in gold. Player name and jersey trimmings are all outlined in black, so there isn’t a hint of green anywhere.
