SERIES HISTORY

Marquette leads the series 2–0

• The Warriors won the last meeting 48–46 on Dec. 9, 2000, at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.

COACH SPEAK

"We did some things well against [UW-Milwaukee], but we didn't play well in the second half," said Little Rock head coach Darrell Walker. "We're going to have to play much better against Marquette. They have a great program and tradition, and they'll be tough to beat on their home court."

TROJAN TIDBITS

• Graduate transfer guard Braxton Bayless was a bright spot in Monday's loss to UW-Milwaukee, scoring 19 points with three assists, a block, and a steal. The Iowa native shot 7-of-11 from the field and 2-of-3 from three-point range in 27 minutes. With projected starters KK Robinson and Kellen Robinson out for the season and Khasen Robinson sidelined with injury, Bayless has stepped up as a key contributor in the Trojan backcourt.

• Senior Johnathan Lawson, one of the nation's leaders in minutes played last season, logged 34 minutes Monday and scored 15 points.

• The Trojans shot an impressive 50% (8-of-16) from three-point range against UW-Milwaukee.

• Redshirt freshman Joseph Thomas made the most of his four minutes of action, hitting a three-p

ointer and converting a three-point play for six quick points.

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS

• Marquette head coach Shaka Smart earned his 100th win at the school with a victory over Southern to open the season. The Wisconsin native is well-known for his successful stints at VCU and Texas, holding a career record of 372–183 (.670).

• Marquette was picked to finish fifth in the Big East this season in the Preseason Coaches' Poll.

• The Warriors opened the season 2–0 with wins over Albany and Southern before falling 100–77 to Indiana at Chicago's United Center on Sunday — their largest loss since an 81–53 setback to UConn on Feb. 17, 2024.

• Freshman Nigel James Jr. started the second half against Indiana and responded with 16 points in 18 minutes.

• Senior guard Chase Ross, a two-time All-Big East Academic Team selection, leads Marquette with nearly 20 points per game.

• Junior guard Zaide Lowery (11.3 ppg) is also averaging double figures early in the season.
