LAST TIME OUT – Junior guard Carl Parrish scored 22 points, including the game-winner in the closing seconds, as the Presbyterian Blue Hose rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit for a 63-61 road win over the Georgia State Panthers this past Monday. Redshirt senior Jonah Pierce chipped in with 14 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore guard Erik Taylor scored 11 points while dishing out six assists. Redshirt junior forward Jaylen Peterson scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

INSIDE THE STAT SHEET – Pierce leads the Blue Hose in scoring (15.3 ppg), and rebounding (10.5 rpg). Parrish is second on the team in scoring at 14.3 points per game while connecting on a team-high eight three-point field goals this season. Eight PC players have knocked down at least one three-point field goal this season. Peterson also averages double-figure boards with 10.3 rebounds per contest. Taylor tops the Blue Hose with 14 assists. Peterson and redshirt freshman forward Chidi Chiakwelu average over one block per game. As a team, Presbyterian is shooting 46.3 percent from the field while averaging 72.8 points per game.
NEARLY RECORD BREAKING REBOUNDS TOTALS – Redshirt junior forward Jaylen Peterson grabbed 17 rebounds in the win over Bluefield (November 5). His 17 rebounds were tied for the fourth-highest single-game rebounds total in Presbyterian's DI era. The DI era record for rebounds in a game is 18.
DOUBLE DIGIT BOARDS– Redshirt senior forward Jonah Pierce has grabbed double-figure rebounds in two of Presbyterian's first four games. He corralled 13 rebounds against Navy (November 3) and ETSU (November 8). In Presbyterian's other game, he grabbed nine rebounds in the win over Bluefield (November 5).
ROAD WARRIORS - Presbyterian has won four straight road games after posting road wins at Longwood, Radford and UNC Asheville to end last year's regular season and a road win at Georgia State this past Monday. This is the second most consecutive road wins by the Blue Hose in its Division I era. In the 2011-12 season, Presbyterian had a stretch of five straight road wins.
PC COACH QUINTON FERRELL -Quinton Ferrell is in his seventh season as the head coach of his alma mater, Presbyterian College. Ferrell, a former Blue Hose team captain and a 2007 PC graduate, is one of 51 coaches in the NCAA Division I ranks who are coaching their alma mater.
RETURNING LETTERWINNERS - The returning letterwinners: Pierce, Peterson, who set the program's D1 era record for blocks in a season last year, Parrish, sophomores guard/forward Iverson King, a Big South All-Freshman team selection, guard Triston Wilson, and guard Luke Allison. Two players, sophomore guard Khalon Hudson and Chiakwelu, will be a part of Presbyterian's playing rotation after redshirting last season.
NEWCOMERS - Joining those returners are five newcomers: sophomores guard/forward Josh Pickett, a transfer from the University of Denver, and guard Taylor, a transfer from Sam Houston, and freshmen guards Amare Anderson and JD Bowden, and forward Augustine Ayelyine.
PRESBYTERIAN-SOUTH CAROLINA SERIES – Wednesday's game will be the 43rd meeting in the series. South Carolina leads the series, 34-8. South Carolina beat Presbyterian, 69-59, in the two teams' most recent matchup on December 30, 2024. Former PC guard Kory Mincy led the Blue Hose with 27 points, and former PC guard Kobe Stewart added 13 points to the Blue Hose's offensive attack.
SOUTH CAROLINA – Coach Lamont Paris is in his fourth season at the helm of the Gamecocks program. This season, South Carolina has home wins over North Carolina A&T and Southern Miss. Redshirt senior guard Meechie Johnson leads the team in scoring at 23.5 points game and assists at 3.5 per game.
