The Packers‘ defense folded in a stunning loss to the Carolina Panthers last week, and things won’t get any easier against Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown and the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles on Monday night.
While head coach Matt LaFleur and the Packers might need to dedicate extra time to stopping the Eagles’ tush push, at least one former quarterback believes there’s even bigger trouble ahead awaiting Green Bay’s defense.
David Carr has bold prediction for Packers vs. Eagles

NFL Media analyst, and former NFL quarterback, David Carr didn’t hold back in his prediction for the Packers on Monday night.
Carr sees the game going … poorly for Jeff Hafley’s defense, and the Packers.
“Philadelphia’s aerial attack has been trending upward,” Carr writes of the Eagles’ offense. “With Hurts throwing seven touchdown passes (against zero interceptions) over the past two games. Going against a Packers defense that hasn’t allowed 300 passing yards since Week 4, the Eagles quarterback enjoys his best day through the air — finally realizing the vast opportunities he has on the perimeter with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith" data-link="/players/devonta-smith/" data-slug="devonta-smith">DeVonta Smith — with a season-high 330 passing yards and a trio of TDs.”
If the Eagles are able to fire on all cylinders, as Carr predicts, it could be a long night for the Packers.
While A.J. Brown’s future in Philadelphia was the topic of rampant trade speculation in the weeks leading up to Tuesday’s deadline, having Brown and Smith on the field together could be just what Hurts needs to untap the full potential of the Eagles’ offense.
Against a banged up and beleaguered secondary, it may come down to Micah Parsons and the Packers’ front-seven relentlessly pressuring Hurts to limit the damage the Eagles are able to do on offense.
