'She's seen me grow a lot': Scott on Lioness sister Le Tissier

Scott was called up to the England senior squad for the first time last week after impressing for Bournemouth this season.

Le Tissier, meanwhile, captains Manchester United in the WSL, and has ten caps for England.

The pair grew up together and played in the same teams on Guernsey when they were young, and spent a lot of time flying over to the mainland together as they pursued their dreams of playing football.

Scott said: “Growing up, we'd fly over every weekend together.

“She'd have her games for Hampshire and I'll be playing for Southampton as a kid. So, every weekend, one of our parents and ourselves were flying over.

“It took a lot, especially for our parents, the amount of money they were paying and the amount of dedication they put in for us to dream to be footballers.

“It's a credit to them and we're just happy now we're both playing at the top level. Obviously, she's flying for Man United and for the Lionesses as well, so I couldn’t be prouder of her as well.”

Asked if Le Tissier had any advice for him for his time with the England side, Scott said: “It was more just enjoy it and be yourself, show what you can do and do what you've been doing for all these years.

“She's seen me grow a lot as a person, as a football player as well. And I think back in the day when, like I said, when I was back playing local football, she would have never thought that I'd have gone on to be a professional and neither would I.

“So she's obviously so pleased with me. She texted me straight away as soon as she got the news and it's nice to have someone around who's experienced it and have been around the Lionesses and England in general.

“She can help me out with advice on playing at the top level and top pressured situations.”
