Nico Harrison was bound to lose his job as GM of the Dallas Mavericks sooner rather than later. On Tuesday, owner Patrick Dumont announced that the franchise had parted ways with Harrison. The Luka Doncic trade, arguably the worst in the history of the sport, proved to be too much to overcome.
Since he made that deal, fans have been vocal about wanting Nico fired. The Mavs’ 3-8 record to start the NBA season only provided the catalyst. And while the fans have spoken and Dumont has spoken, Harrison has been relatively silent this season. Which is what makes his current Instagram bio quite funny.

The bio, which used to read, ‘GM of the Dallas Mavericks,’ has been changed to ‘Girl Dad, Unemployed.’ That’s quite humorous, and it shows that Harrison does have some sense of humor about the situation. While this likely won’t endear him to fans again, he does seem to be taking it all on the chin.

Harrison is likely not the last person who will face the consequences of the Luka trade. Jason Kidd’s job as the head coach could be in trouble. And this is without mentioning that Anthony Davis’ future just became a lot more uncertain, too.

It’s a bit surreal to think about how all this happened based on Nico’s decision to trade Luka. The magnitude of the trade will be felt around the league for years to come. And should Doncic win a championship this year and a few more later, Harrison’s hilarious new bio could be around to stay for a while.
