Daniel Farke should be given the chance to get Leeds United out of their current plight after getting his team back into the Premier League this season.

That's the view of former Leeds player Paul Dickov who wants to see more loyalty from clubs for managers who have managed to get their teams promoted to the top flight.

Farke led the Whites to the EFL Championship title last year with a haul of 100 points, edging out runners-up Burnley on goal difference.

But despite making a reasonable start back to life in the big time, Leeds' form has slumped, with just one win in their last six matches. and four points from a possible 18, leaving them 16th in the table, just a point above the relegation zone.

A grim 3-1 defeat at relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest on Sunday piled more pressure on under-fire Farke, but Dickov, who made four appearances for Leeds at the end of the 2009/10 season, helping them win promotion from League One, wants to see managers like Farke given more time, given the credit that they should supposedly have in the bank.

Leeds United have slashed up to 50% off select kits and merch on their official club store, including this season's home shirt.

During an interview with Best Betting Bonuses, when asked if Farke was the right man to keep Leeds up, Dickov said: "Yeah, it's a difficult one in hindsight. If you'd asked me this last week. I probably have said yes, you know. But after the defeat of the weekend, then people are going to obviously point the finger and look at them on 11 points.

"But they've had a decent start, Leeds. I just don't know if they're banking on their home form too much to get them through it. It's a tough league.

"All three promoted teams started really well. Burnley and Leeds have dropped off a bit but Sunderland are doing fantastically.

"I never like to see managers getting sacked, but I especially don’t like seeing newly promoted managers not getting a proper chance in the Premier League, because they have done the hard work to get them there.

"We all know how difficult it is. In past seasons, all three clubs come up, then go back down again. You know, sometimes you would like to think that there should be more common sense, if not loyalty.

"Give the manager that got you there a decent amount of time with the squad. Give him the chance to bleed in the new signings."

Following the international break, Leeds are next in action when they host high-flying Aston Villa on Sunday, November 23 at Elland Road.
