Premier League sack race for November

Being a Premier League manager isn’t easy. Bosses in England’s top division are often chopped and changed, seemingly on a whim – who will be the next unfortunate soul to face the sack?

We have already seen a few sackings this season, including at West Ham United, Nottingham Forest and Wolves. Vitor Pereira was the latest manager to be sacked – and history dictates that he will not be the last in 2025/26.

Before we begin, we’d like to give a shout out to Arne Slot at Liverpool – his successes from last season have made him largely teflon, but the Reds may be tempted to make a change with the awful run of form he is on.

Sean Dyche

This may seem like an odd inclusion – Sean Dyche has only been at Nottingham Forest for three weeks at the time of writing and has largely been successful. However, given the volatility of Evangelos Marinakis in the owner’s hotseat, there is a constant feeling that anything can happen around the City Ground.

Dyche’s job is certainly safe at the moment – but it will only take a few poor results before Marinakis’ fragile patience begins to wear thin. Additionally, he will not win any favours in the Greek’s eyes with his unattractive brand of football.

Eddie Howe

There has always been a prevailing sense that Newcastle United could replace Eddie Howe at any moment. As one of the league’s ‘money clubs’, fans have wondered when they would pull the trigger and appoint a big-name manager in Howe’s stead.

Howe has done very well to maintain his position at St. James’ Park and is well liked by the Newcastle faithful, but they currently sit 14th in the league table, having lost five of their last six Premier League games.

Scott Parker

Scott Parker put together a phenomenal team last season that saw Burnley promoted from the Championship with relative ease. However, as many predicted, the transition has not been a smooth one.

Burnley have struggled this season – after putting together a fantastic defensive record in 2024/25, they have now conceded 22 goals in 11 Premier League games. The Clarets are out of the drop zone purely on goal difference – could the Burnley board look to twist, rather than stick?

Marco Silva

Fulham are a club that many feel could achieve more. They have enormous financial backing from Shahid Khan, but not much to show for it – is Marco Silva to blame for this?

As things stand, the Cottagers are 15th in the Premier League and have lost five of their last six league games. This is relegation form – and it could cost Silva his job if he does not steady the ship.

Daniel Farke

Many people were quietly optimistic about Leeds United before the start of the season. Their transfer window had been pragmatic and Daniel Farke had been given time to reflect on his mistakes from the last time he managed a team in the Premier League. Unfortunately, whether he has learned from them or not, the results have been largely the same.

Farke is the favourite with the bookmakers to go next according to Oddschecker, with several betting services offering bleak odds of 1/2 for the 49-year-old to be the next Premier League manager to get the sack. Leeds are currently hovering over the drop zone – they may well take a gamble on a new head coach if they fall into it.
