Former Premier League goalkeeper David James has backed Chelsea as dark horses in the title race this season.
The Blues currently sit third after 11 games, six points behind early leaders Arsenal, and two behind second placed Manchester City.
Chelsea’s 3-0 win against Wolves was their sixth of the season in the league, and Enzo Maresca’s men are currently in a good position.
David James on Chelsea title chances
Chelsea started last season well and were putting pressure on Liverpool, before they fell away in January and ended up qualifying for the Champions League on the final day of the season.
The Blues without doubt are making progress, but it still feels like they don’t have the quality in key areas to be a serious title contender.

Chelsea have shown they can beat the top teams on their day, but are lacking that consistency over a 38 game season.
Maresca is expected to once again guide Chelsea to Champions League football, but James thinks they’ll be in the title race until the final weeks of the season.
“I don’t think Arsenal will win the title if that’s an answer, even if they’ve started well,” he said as quoted by The Standard.
“I think the likes of Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool will go into the last weeks of the season, if not the last game of the season, and possibly decide the title race.”
Enzo Maresca not under pressure to win the league
The Blues haven’t competed for the title since they last won it under Antonio Conte, and supporters are desperate for the club to become a force again in the league.
