With more investment in the club than any other in the world in the last three years, Chelsea fans are starting to get impatient about their lack of a challenge for the Premier League title.
Enzo Maresca led the Blues to an impressive fourth placed finish last season, and supporters will have wanted to kick on and form a genuine title challenge this season.
The Blues sit third at the moment, six points behind dominant leaders Arsenal, although with an opportunity to face them at Stamford Bridge at the end of the month to make a real statement.
Cole Palmer could be back for the Arsenal game, and there should be praise handed Chelsea’s way for their impressive start to the campaign without their key man in attack.

Todd Boehly thinks Chelsea can win the Premier League from next season
A result there would no doubt get Blues supporters excited, however it seems that Todd Boehly and co in charge of the club are not getting ahead of themselves.
Graeme Bailey has stated that the ownership have always been targeting the 2026/27 campaign as the one where they will mount a serious title charge.
He said: “I think I’ve got confidence in them. Again, I don’t want to harp on about the goalkeepers, I think they’re in line to bring Mike Maignan in from AC Milan next year. I think they’ll bring another striker in.
“They currently have the best midfield tandem in world football, or equal to anything else in the world in Enzo and Caicedo. They are looking absolutely sublime.
“I think they’ll make top four, but I think they always had next season in mind for the title tilt, which I think will come.”
Chelsea’s confusing Mike Maignan pursuit
After last season it was clear to everyone that strengthening the goalkeeper position would have significantly increased Chelsea’s chances of winning the league this season.

The Blues were strongly linked to Mike Maignan before the Club World Cup, however couldn’t come to an agreement with AC Milan despite them being close on valuations.
The Frenchman will become a free agent at the end of the campaign, and it is believed Chelsea are still front of the queue to bring him in.
Ironically, the 2025/26 season has seen Robert Sanchez make great improvements between the sticks, however it still feels as if the Blues cannot win the title with the Spaniard as their goalkeeper.
