“Solution” | ExWHUEmployee | West Ham January striker hunt

**West Ham are exploring the domestic market in the hunt for a new striker in January, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.**

As the next transfer window in the new year starts to appear on the horizon, there is an anticipation from the club that money will be spent to strengthen, as West Ham look to get away from the bottom end of the Premier League under new boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

The club are said to be exploring areas including a new defender, however a new striker is a priority, with our insider Ex advising that within the club they are eager to fully explore the domestic market, which has been successful in the past.

“West Ham are eager to bring in new frontman in the new year, with that signing ideally being domestic based who is proven,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Podcast.

“This is not easy as at present options are limited, with the likes of Haji Wright at Coventry being one who is impressing, but difficult mid-season to sign.

“It may be the club are forced to look abroad for the solution, but the markets here will be fully explored as we look to strengthen.”

The club has also given the green light for Niclas Fullkrug to leave in January, with a loan move looking more likely. However, it is stressed that they won’t be bullied in having to pay a large portion of wages to accommodate any deal.

“The club will not roll over and pay wages for Fullkrug to leave on loan,” stated Ex. “If the player is desperate to leave, then he and his agent will need to accept that he will likely have to take a wage cut of moving on, with clubs in Germany and Italy said to be keen.”
