Giannis Antetokounmpo can retire now, and he’ll still be a lock to be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. But there is no stopping Antetokounmpo from doing more in his career in the NBA, which started when he was selected by the Bucks 15th overall in the first round of the 2013 NBA Draft.
Antetokounmpo has become so much better since he entered the league over a decade ago, but one thing he hasn’t become yet is a player with a lethal shot from behind the arc. Perimeter shooting remains to be one of the few weaknesses in the “Greek Freak’s” game, as he’s a career 28.6 percent 3-point shooter.
However, there is a marked improvement in that area for Antetokounmpo in the 2025-26 NBA season. In fact, he is making half of his 1.6 3-point attempts per game through 10 games.

Against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday, Antetokounmpo went 1-for-2 from deep, and he let his former Bucks coach, Jason Kidd, who now calls the shots for the Mavs, know about it.
“When I was younger, he told me not to shoot threes… So when I made it, I said ‘That’s for you, for all the torture you put me through,’” Antetokounmpo told reporters (h/t Fullcourtpass).
Antetokounmpo finished the Mavs game with 30 points to help the Bucks score a 116-114 win.

Antetokounmpo has never shot better than 31.0 percent from deep for an entire season, since he shot 34.7 percent from there during his rookie season.
Then again, Antetokounmpo only has a career 13.9 3-point attempt rate, as he’s opted more to use his incredible physical talents to punish opposing defenses from inside the arc.
