Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz has been at the centre of speculation in Italy over the past few months. The Italian media love dragging names of Premier League clubs, and today it’s the turn of Chelsea and Arsenal again.
This comes from Wednesday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport. The newspaper reports talks for a new deal between Juve and Yildiz’s entourage have broken down.
The Turkey international is demanding €6m per season to reflect his importance to the team. Currently, he earns only €1.7m per season, which is the 19th highest in the side. So far, there is a difference of only €1m between what Juve are offering and the player’s demands.
This isn’t much but talks have stopped for now. And this has proved enough to attract interest from Chelsea, Arsenal and even Real Madrid.
The newspaper states the Blues came forward with €67m in the summer, which is something which has been pushed forward a few times in Italy. Regardless, it’s claimed the London side are now ready to return for the 20-year-old.
Arsenal and Real Madrid are expected to provide competition, and it’s believed Yildiz’s price can also soar to about €100m by the summer.
Gazzetta believe that now, only an intervention from Juve majority shareholder John Elkann can ‘unlock’ the situation.
Yildiz has never expressed a desire to leave Turin. He has also made it clear that he dreams of replicating the legendary Alessandro del Piero.
Not long ago, Jorge Mendes was trying to take control of the youngster’s future. That didn’t happen, but back in February, Gazzetta claimed Yildiz’s father-agent met with the super-agent to talk about his future.
That might be an indication of Mendes potentially leaking information in an attempt to get the player a major move or better contract.
