Crystal Palace have set their sights on Tyler Morton, just months after he left Liverpool.
That’s according to Jeunes Footeux, and they make it clear it’s their own information on Crystal Palace.
Morton climbed through the ranks of Liverpool’s youth system and was promoted to their first team in 2021. The Reds sent him on loan to Blackburn Rovers and Hull City between 2022 and 2024.
The 23-year-old couldn’t get regular minutes under Arne Slot at Liverpool last season. He left them for Lyon in August, and the move has paid off. Morton has already cemented his place and played 15 matches for the French club so far.
In September, the young midfielder said he wouldn’t change anything about the transfer. He also said he’s got an England on his agenda.
His performances have caught Crystal Palace’s attention, and they are monitoring him closely.
Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton is attracting interest from other clubs. They are said to be preparing for his exit in 2026 and faced with this possibility, the FA Cup winners have identified Morton as a target.
Lyon reportedly paid €10m to Liverpool for Morton. Their CEO, Michael Gerlinger, recently admitted “financially, things aren’t going very well” for the club.
Jeunes Footeux claim the Ligue 1 side intend to retain the former Liverpool man beyond this season. Due to their economic conditions, they suspect Lyon might be tempted to sell Morton if Crystal Palace or any other club were to table a ‘substantial offer’.
