New footage shows that Amon Ra St. Brown clearly punched Daron Payne first

Washington Commanders defensive tackle Daron Payne has had his one-game suspension upheld after appearing to punch Detroit Lions star Amon-Ra St. Brown in their Week 10 match-up, despite new evidence showing that the latter had instigated the incident.

New video footage clearly shows St. Brown attempting to throw multiple punches at Payne right in front of NFL officials. Payne then responds while throwing a punch with referees throwing the flag and being ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct.

The incident happened in front of president Donald Trump, who had been at the game for Veteran's Day. Payne, who launched an appeal, shared the footage on his social media after the NFL decided to uphold their decision to hand him a one-game suspension.

St. Brown has not been punished for his involvement, having hit the Trump dance in celebrating his touchdown in the win over the Commanders.

The Commanders know that they need Payne on their defense to improve their fortunes, having one of the worst-ranked units in the league in what has been a nightmare season.

Payne is having an impressive individual season, but he will be suspended for their games against the Miami Dolphins in Madrid, Spain.

Washington has a 3-7 record, and knows that their season is practically over with almost no chance of making the playoffs.

This comes after quarterback Jayden Daniels, who suffered a gruesome injury in their loss to the Seattle Seahawks, had taken the team to an NFC Championship game last year.

The Commanders are missing several key stars on offense and defense, facing a fellow struggling team in Madrid in the Dolphins in a battle of two 3-7 teams.

Payne is also set to earn $19.56 million in salary for the 2025 season, meaning he's missed out on over $1 million and will not be able to collect his pay check.

The Commanders will have to rely on veterans Javon Kinlaw, Johnny Newton, Eddie Goldman, and Sheldon Day in their game against the Dolphins.

The Lions, meanwhile, have avoided losing their best receiver in St. Brown for their match-up against the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend in a battle for the number one seed in the NFC.
