Nuno has work to do over the International break

**West Ham boss Nuno Espírito Santo can’t get carried away with his team’s form, there is still a lot of room for improvement.**

The Hammers players and fans are in an excellent mood after grabbing two wins in their least two, at home against both Newcastle United and Burnley.

The improvement in the team has been so noticeable, not only has the performance improved, the focus and desire to get the win has totally changed.

Whatever Nuno has been doing at Rush Green is clearly worked, the motivation seems so much higher than it was just a couple of weeks ago.

This is epitomised by Maximilian Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo mainly. To be honest, they looked like they weren’t bothered before, constantly losing concentration. Fans weren’t happy after seeing Todibo laughing after losses, but they’ve completely changed over the last two matches. Let’s hope it’s here to stay.

After two wins on the bounce it feels like the International break has come at the wrong time, ruined our momentum, but I think it’s a perfect time for Nuno to master the way we are playing. We’ve improved and we’ve finally got three points on the board, but there’s certainly room for improvement.

Nuno and his staff need to work with the two central defenders over the break and help make their partnership even better.

But it’s not just defensively we can improve. We can improve in the attacking third, we need to start creating more chances. Yes we’ve scored six in our last two, but we’ve been extremely clinical and that’s unlikely to continue.

It won’t be the same without Bowen and Paqueta around, our two most effective front players. However, it’s an opportunity for Callum Wilson and Crysencio Summerville especially to show Nuno what they can do.

The Dutch winger has been playing really well but hasn’t been contributing to enough goals/chance creation, so let’s hope it’s something they can work on before we face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium next weekend.
