Bucks legend Michael Redd shares heartfelt post on 19th anniversary of crazy franchise record

Several legendary players have been part of the rich history of the Milwaukee Bucks, and among them is none other than Michael Redd. The sweet-shooting lefty played 11 of his 12 seasons in the NBA donning Milwaukee colors. During his long stay with the Bucks, Redd became one of the best ever to do it in franchise history.

In 578 total games played with Milwaukee, Redd racked up a total of 11,554 points. And in 57 of them came in just one game back in the 2005-06 NBA season, when Redd was still very much at the top of his game.

On Tuesday, Redd reminisced his then-record-setting 57-point performance againt the Utah Jazz, as he celebrated the 19th year anniversary of that incredible feat.

ViaRedd’s official X account:

“57 points. Hard to believe it’s been 19 years since I put up that number against Utah in an NBA game. I remember just about every bucket from that night. But…I remember losing more than anything. That’s why when people ask me if that was my favorite game ever I tell them the hard truth: Nope.”

As mentioned by Redd, his scoring explosion that night went for naught, as the Bucks still fell prey to Utah, 113-111.

Jazz stars Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer scored 27 and 32 points, respectively, to counter Redd’s big night, while Matt Harpring and Paul Millsap combined for 32 points off the bench for Utah. Meanwhile, Milwaukee got 18 points from Ruben Patterson and 11 from Charlie Bell.

Redd’s record has since been topped by Giannis Antetokounmpo in 2023 when the “Greek Freak” dropped 65 points on the Indiana Pacers. In 2024, Antetokounmpo went off for 59 points against the Detroit Pistons, pushing Redd’s 57-point performance to the third-best ever in a game in Bucks history.

Of course, Milwaukee hasn’t forgotten about Redd’s offensive explosion nearly two decades ago.
