Bournemouth chief makes Liverpool transfer admission amid links to Antoine Semenyo

Tim Bezbatchenko, General Manager of AFC Bournemouth, has been discussing selling players to Liverpool amid links to Antoine Semenyo.

Interest in the Cherries ace has been rife for some time, and there are even some suggestions that Liverpool regret not signing Semenyo before he signed a new deal at the Vitality Stadium early in the summer.

It has been claimed that Bournemouth inserted a release clause in that deal, but the exact figure is not clear.

That same source mooted a potential January approach from Liverpool and more clubs, with the Reds eyeing up Semenyo to potentially challenge Mohamed Salah.

Tim Bezbatchenko happy to let Bournemouth players join Liverpool

Speaking on the Business of Sport podcast this week, the Cherries General Manager admitted that when a club such as Liverpool comes calling, they don’t want to stand in the way of players leaving.

He said: “When a club like Real Madrid, Liverpool, PSG come in, and they’re competing for Champions League positions, who are we to say, no, you can’t go, you can’t fulfill your dream?

“No, it wouldn’t be like that for all clubs, because not everyone is Real Madrid. But there’s an opportunity and everybody wins, right?

“I think that’s what we’re trying to find, is this commonality where everybody can win. It’s a culture of abundance.”

Such an admission bodes well for Liverpool, but it’s also worth noting that Fabrizio Romano does not believe Semenyo will move in January.

If the 25-year-old does eventually decide to leave the South Coast for Anfield at some point, he will become the 13th player in history to sign for both clubs.

Every player to sign for Liverpool and Bournemouth

Recently, Liverpool sold Ben Gannon-Doak to Bournemouth for an initial £20m.

The Reds put a buyback clause into the deal for the Scottish winger, with Gannon-Doak valued higher than two Reds’ teenagers on the back of his switch.

Elsewhere, Milos Kerkez moved from Bournemouth to the North West and has endured a difficult start to life under Arne Slot.

The full list of players to feature for Liverpool and the Cherries can be seen below:
