NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Pelicans are bringing back one of their most popular uniform designs as part of the NBA and Nike’s 2025-26 City Edition program.
Originally introduced during the 2023-24 season, the Pelicans’ City Edition uniform returns by popular demand as a tribute to the city’s spirit, individuality and vibrant nightlife.
The decision to revisit the design aligns with the NBA’s initiative encouraging teams to revive standout City Edition uniforms from previous seasons. The Pelicans said the selection was clear — the design was too good for just one season.
The uniform’s signature features remain the same, including the neon-on-black color scheme and the distinctive “Skelican” logo, which together represent the energy and mystique of New Orleans after dark. The look will again be paired with a themed alternate court, both of which will debut during “Skelican Night” on Nov. 16, when the Pelicans host the Golden State Warriors.
The City Edition uniform and court will be featured at select games throughout the season. Fans can find more information at nba.com/pelicans/city.
Retail Collection Launches Nov. 11
To celebrate the uniform’s return, the Pelicans are launching a new premium fan collection inspired by the Skelican. Beginning Nov. 11, City Edition jerseys and apparel will be available at the Pelicans Team Store inside the Smoothie King Center and online at pelicansteamstore.com.
