Don Hutchison sticks boot in on Alexander Isak after striker's controversial exit from…

**Alexander Isak continues to reap what he sowed in the summer when, instead of talking to the club about leaving Newcastle United amicably, he took the nuclear route and downed tools to force his move to Liverpool.**

Isak was obviously very aware of Liverpool's interest, no doubt having been told to sit tight and the bid would come, while being advised to basically be as toxic as possible to ensure there was no way back for him at Newcastle.

It worked, sure, but at what cost? A lot, it seems. Isak has just one goal for Liverpool after his £125 million move, and that came against Championship strugglers Southampton in the Carabao Cup. Isak has not looked anywhere near fit since he made the switch.

Arne Slot felt compelled to play him when he was available, even though he knew he wasn't fit enough, and to nobody's surprise, Isak picked up an injury. He has recovered from that now and still can't get into the team, having to watch from the sidelines on Sunday as Manchester City took Liverpool apart.

Don Hutchison says Alexander Isak's misery is all his own doing

---------------------------------------------------------------

Now, Don Hutchison, who has a foot in both camps growing up a Newcastle supporter and playing for Liverpool, has stuck the boot in again, posting on X that Isak, who was captured looking like he was questioning all of his decisions on Sunday, brought it on himself.

> Totally his own fault. He should have been professional, done his pre season properly with Newcastle. It was only ever gonna be 1 of 2 outcomes…1..He goes to Liverpool and is 💯 fit, ready to play!!!

> 2..He stays at Newcastle and is ready to play..

We have to find these little nuggets of joy when we can

-------------------------------------------------------

The fact that we're still talking about Isak and revelling in his misery in mid-November shows just how badly things have gone for Isak, and also just how much be pissed everyone off up here.

I mean, it's not like Newcastle are exactly having a party this season so we have to get our kicks where we can, even if many people are sick of seeing Isak's name.

We got our own dose of karma with Yoane Wissa when he did something similar to force his move from Brentford to Newcastle and he picked up an injury straight away. Brentford fans took great delight in that fact at the weekend, and who can blame them? These things don't disappear overnight.
