A.J. Brown did not produce significant numbers during Monday night’s matchup in Green Bay, but his impact proved vital in the Philadelphia Eagles‘ 10-7 victory over the Packers.
The wide receiver’s most important contribution came through a crucial block that helped create the game’s defining play in a contest dominated by defensive pressure and limited scoring opportunities.
Brown spoke with reporters afterward about the moment that shifted momentum in Philadelphia’s favor. He deflected attention from his own effort and pointed toward the player who turned the play into a major gain.

The Eagles held a 3-0 lead in the fourth quarter when their offense finally generated its most important sequence. Philadelphia faced 3rd and seven from its own 23-yard line after Saquon Barkley had been stopped on the previous down.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts found Barkley open on the left side for a short pass that quickly became a 41-yard gain. Barkley eluded cornerback Carrington Valentine and raced down the sideline with Brown providing a critical block before safety Xavier McKinney made the tackle.
One play later, Hurts connected with DeVonta Smith for a 36-yard touchdown that extended Philadelphia’s advantage to 10-0 late in the game. Barkley and Smith received credit for their roles on the drive, but Brown’s blocking also drew recognition afterward.
The block represented the type of contribution that does not appear in traditional statistics but carries significant weight in close games. Philadelphia struggled to establish an offensive rhythm throughout the evening, making Brown’s willingness to engage physically even more valuable in securing the outcome.
