Aston Villa have handed a professional deal to Teddie Bloomfield.
The club have confirmed the move in a statement that sees the defender pen his first senior contract, three years after moving from Ipswich Town.
Bloomfield joined as a 14-year-old, amid reports of a £100,000 fee around the time that Villa also head hunted coaches Adem Atay and Gerrard Nash from the Tractor Boys.
Since then he has signed a two-year scholarship and now at 17-years-old is able to pen a pro deal.
The Villa statement read: "Aston Villa is pleased to announce that Teddie Bloomfield has signed his first professional contract with the club.
"An attack-minded left-back, Bloomfield joined the Villans from Ipswich Town in 2022, and featured heavily for Villa’s Under-18s last season as they secured a historic treble.
"The 17-year-old has continued to impress this season, turning out in Premier League 2, the Vertu Trophy and the UEFA Youth League as well as captaining Richard Beale’s Under-18s side."
Academy manager Mark Harrison told the club website: “We are delighted that Teddie has signed his first professional contract. This is great recognition for his hard work and performances over the last 12 months.
“Teddie is an attacking left full-back who has great energy and desire to make an impact on the game. He enjoys getting forward, as well as being aggressive as a defender.
“At 17, he has played for both the Under-19s team in the UEFA Youth League and Under-21s team this season, and done well. We look forward to seeing how Teddie develops over the next few seasons.”
