Leeds United’s solid defensive record laid solid foundations for their successful push for promotion into the Premier League last season as Daniel Farke’s side conceded just 30 goals in 46 Championship fixtures.
Despite that impressive record, the Whites still targeted several defenders and a new goalkeeper during the summer transfer window and that led to the arrival of Brazilian stopper Lucas Perri, full-backs Gabriel Gudmundsson and James Justin and centre-backs Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw.
But what about the underlying stats with the Whites’ defensive record? We take a look at how Leeds’ xGA (expected goals against) compares to their rivals across the top flight.
