Ivan Toney Leeds United
Ivan Toney has been linked with a move to Leeds United as the January window approaches. The England striker wants a loan move to the Premier League to boost his World Cup chances.
It has become quite obvious that Leeds need more options in attack – could the Al Ahli striker be an option? The former Brentford man controversially moved to the Saudi Pro League for huge money last year, but despite the huge wealth he is amassing there, it appears he wants a return to England.

For Leeds, things have not been great this season with the Whites experiencing some ups and downs. The early part of the season showed some promise with results against Newcastle and Everton. Daniel Farke made some tweaks after the September break, which seemed to change the club’s attacking fortunes. But since returning from the October international break, things have gone south.
A loss to a poor Burnley side raised some eyebrows, but then beating West Ham quickly calmed the nerves. Leeds knew their schedule after the November international break was going to be difficult, and so getting some points from the Brighton and Forest games was crucial. However, Farke’s side failed to get a single point, losing both games in embarrassing fashion.
Leeds United chances of signing Ivan Toney revealed
Daniel Farke has the next few games to save his job, but in reality, Leeds need much more than that. The January transfer window will have a huge say in whether the Whites survive this campaign. Alex Crook has said that Leeds could be one of the clubs after Ivan Toney in January.
The striker would be a perfect fit for a team in the lower half of the table that needs goals, and a strong presence up front. Everton, West Ham, Tottenham and Manchester United were also mentioned, but Crook has stated the likelihood of a move to Elland Road happening in the next few months.
“Well listen they would be queuing up no question about that. Everton, West Ham and Tottenham, Leeds as well,” he said.
Crook continued: “Probably half the league would take Ivan Toney. However a move to England in January would be difficult.
“Ivan Toney is aware that even if he plays in the Premier League, his prospects of making the World Cup are slim because Thomas Tuchel has made his mind up about a place in the England squad.
“If Toney moves early, he will be writing off a lot of money due to taxes. He joined last year, and financially is he really going to walk away from £400,000-a-week?”
Nothing is impossible when it comes to transfers
Despite the new information possibly ruling out a move for Toney, stranger things have happened in the Premier League. This summer, Sunderland were able to sign Granit Xhaka, who won the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen. So it is not far fetched to think that Leeds could pull of a move for Ivan Toney.
The club desperately needs a goalscoring presence, and the England man fits the bill. Toney scored a lot of goals for a newly-promoted Brentford side and lead the line well for a number of years. He has very good aerial ability and hold up play, and would be a much better option up top than Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Joel Piroe.
