It looks like the Endrick chase is over for West Ham – and for any other Premier League club.

The French side and the Spanish giants have already exchanged contract drafts. The six-month loan is expected to be signed in December and take effect in January.
Talks began in mid-November and progressed quickly. Endrick immediately liked the idea of moving to France. He sees it as a chance to play regularly and stay in contention for Brazil’s World Cup squad. Sources close to the player say his entourage are already looking for accommodation in Lyon.
West Ham really wasn’t in the plans after all. Even a reported Manchester United late interest was not enough to change his mind.
The report adds that Real Madrid do not intend to sell Endrick, though. The loan will include no purchase option, and the club retain the right to recall him in case of injuries.
Lyon’s need for goals was also a decisive factor. The team sit seventh in Ligue 1 and the Europa League, with Pavel Šulc leading their scoring chart on just five goals. Endrick, who is seeking consistent minutes, fits perfectly into that scenario.
Real Madrid initially preferred a move within Spain to support the [**player’s citizenship process**](https://sportwitness.co.uk/west-ham-suffer-blow-in-striker-chase-player-tied-to-eu-amid-spanish-citizenship/), but Endrick’s camp pushed for a different environment. Lyon’s Brazilian connection and the presence of Portuguese manager Paulo Fonseca, known for working well with South American players, sealed the choice.
Once the paperwork is complete, Endrick will join Lyon at the start of January… Ending any Premier League hopes of landing one of Brazil’s most promising talents.
