Despite frustrations, Broncos still tied for most wins in the NFL

Denver Broncos fans are a little bit frustrated with the offense.

It makes sense, as scoring just 10 points against the lowly Las Vegas Raiders last week didn’t exactly feel satisfying.

However, the Broncos still prevailed 10-7 and are riding a seven-game winning streak. Their eight victories overall have them tied atop the NFL with an 8-2 record.

As of this moment in time, Denver is tied with the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots in the AFC. The current tiebreakers (thanks to that infamous leverage penalty) have Indy with the No. 1 seed, the Broncos as the No. 2 seed and the Patriots at No. 3. If the playoffs started tomorrow, Denver would host Jacksonville in the wild-card round.

The AFC West also remains fluid. The Broncos are in first with their 8-2 mark, but the Los Angeles Chargers are sitting at 7-3 and the Kansas City Chiefs at 5-4. Denver hosts K.C. on Sunday, one of the biggest games the team has played in the last decade.

With a win at Empower Field at Mile High, the Broncos would get to 9-2 while dropping the Chiefs to 5-5. It wouldn’t secure the division, but it’d be a massive step. Meanwhile, if Kansas City prevails, Denver would fall to 8-3 while the Chiefs would get to 6-4. This is the definition of a swing game.

While all eyes will be focused on Broncos and Chiefs, it’s worth keeping tabs on the Patriots and Jets on Thursday Night Football, as well at the Chargers at the Jaguars. The Colts are on their bye this week.

Watching the standings is always fun, especially when the No. 1 seed is a real possibility for the Broncos. Beat K.C. this weekend and that might turn into a reality.
