Sheffield United have entered discussions with Patrick Bamford over a potential move to Bramall Lane as a free agent after boss Chris Wilder has gone in search of making his side more of a threat in the final third of the pitch, according to The Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath.
The Blades are languishing in the Championship's relegation zone and have found themselves in serious danger of dropping into League One, but they are attempting to add to their squad ahead of the domestic campaign resuming with a trip to arch-rivals Sheffield Wednesday on November 23.

Sheffield United are in talks to sign free agent Bamford, according to McGrath, after he has continued seeking a fresh challenge since having his Leeds United contract terminated by mutual consent in August.
Although the Blades came from behind to triumph against Blackburn Rovers last weekend, allowing them to go into the international break with just three points separating them from safety, Wilder is still determined to add further firepower to the squad he inherited from predecessor Ruben Selles in September.
