Desire to open talks for Liverpool defender in early January–Don’t want to waste time

AC Milan made progress to sign Liverpool’s Joe Gomez in the summer. However, that progress wasn’t quite enough to get a deal done.

The transfer didn’t go through as the Reds failed to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. That proved frustrating for the Rossoneri and they want to make sure that any winter effort isn’t killed towards the deadline.

Corriere dello Sport report Milan don’t want to waste time over a move in January, so would start their effort when the window opens.

According to the Italian newspaper, talks with the 28-year-old’s camp were going very well. That aspect of a deal wasn’t an issue.

Gomez hasn’t left the thoughts of Milan sporting director Igli Tare, subsequently Corriere dello Sport report ‘an attack is on the way’.
