Leeds United boss Daniel Farke loves a hostile football ground
The latest transfer talk from Elland Road as Leeds United prepare for the January transfer window.
The Whites enjoyed a productive summer transfer window but the opening three months of the new season have shown there are still some shortcomings within Daniel Farke’s squad. There have been suggestions a move for a winger is in the offing after a late move for Fulham and Wales star Harry Wilson fell through at the eleventh hour in September and an attacking midfielder could be considered as Farke looks to add more creativity in the final third.
A goalkeeper could also be considered with Karl Darlow and Illan Meslier both out of contract at the end of the season. Despite being linked with several strikers during the summer before landing a free transfer move for Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin, there has been little talk of a renewed bid to strengthen Farke’s options in the lead role in his attack - but that has not stopped one striker being discussed as a possible target in the new year.
Speculation has suggested former Brentford striker Ivan Toney could return to the Premier League over the coming months after spending the last 15 months playing alongside the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Edouard Mendy and Roberto Firmino at Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli. After scoring 41 goals and providing eight assists in 59 appearances, there has been talk several clubs want to tempt the seven-times capped England international with an opportunity to return to the Premier League - and Leeds have been part of a conversation regarding why his next club could be.

Speaking on talkSPORT, transfer expert Alex Crook said: “They’ll be queuing up, there’s no question about that. You’ve mentioned Everton. West Ham are another team in dire need of a number nine because Niclas Fullkrug looks like he’s going to leave in January after what has been a disappointing move.“
Former Ipswich Town striker Brazil asked if Leeds would be in the picture should Toney return to the Premier League - and Crook replied: “Leeds, as you mention as well, probably half of the Premier League would take Ivan Toney.”
