Alan Brazil is not happy with what people are saying about Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe.
While Geordie Boot Boys understand that PIF have completed faith in Eddie Howe and have no plans to replace him, there have been grumblings of discontent within the Toon Army following Sunday’s latest defeat.
Newcastle United lost to Brentford to extend their rotten away record in the Premier League, with Howe’s side dropping to 14th in the table. That is not where a team as good as the Magpies should be.
But does that mean that Howe should be relieved of his duties as Newcastle United manager? Absolutely not!

Alan Brazil says you can ‘forget’ about Eddie Howe leaving Newcastle United
That is the view of former Manchester United striker and TalkSPORT host Alan Brazil, who discussed Eddie Howe’s future at St James’ Park alongside journalist Alex Crook.
Crook reinforced the message that Howe is going nowhere, saying: “Any noise around Eddie Howe is only coming from social media. I think the Newcastle owners and the bulk of Newcastle fans see he has enough credit in the bank to turn this around.”
In response, Brazil said: “It’s difficult, you can wait too long to make a change but, Eddie Howe, forget it, it’s a joke. You have to stay with Eddie.”
That is a view that will be shared by the majority of Toon fans, who are desperate to see Howe get the club back on track after an inconsistent start to the 2025/26 campaign.

The speculative talk of Howe leaving comes at a time when Daniel Farke at Leeds United and Marco Silva at Fulham are under serious pressure amid their respective sides’ worrying form.
PIF have never panicked since buying Newcastle United
Go back 11 months and Newcastle United were in a very similar position. They had just lost to Brentford away from home and pressure was mounting on Eddie Howe.
His side were not playing well enough, and it would have been easy for an ownership as ambitious as PIF to take drastic action. However, that has never been their style since becoming the Newcastle United owners.
Panic is not something they do. Even at Newcastle United’s times of need, they have not panicked. They have not thrown money at the problem and expected a solution. Everything they have done has been process-driven, and that will continue to be the case.
Last season was Newcastle United’s best ever, with Howe winning a trophy and guiding the club into the Champions League. That came after the lows of December 2024.
While replicating last season’s achievements will be incredibly difficult, there is every reason to believe that Howe will turn things around and get Newcastle United out of this sticky patch of form.
