Fundraising marathon runner reveals new challenge

A fundraising football fan has announced another marathon challenge to raise money for charity.

Manny Singh Kang, from Wolverhampton, who has already raised thousands for Dementia UK, said he will take part in his sixth London Marathon next April "with a difference".

He said he will walk to Greenwich Park for the start of the race from the Wolverhampton Wanderer's Molineaux Stadium, covering 156 miles without sleep.

Mr Kang said his latest challenge would be the hardest yet and he hoped he would be able to complete it.

"I will be attempting to do the whole event without any sleep," he said in a post on social media.

"In the past, I've walked for 48 hours without sleep, I've run London marathons and I've also walked to Chelsea, so I'm now bringing all of these challenges together in one super challenge."

His previous events include sponsored walks, marathons and selling samosas on matchdays at Wolves' ground to raise money for the charity.

In 2024, his hard work was recognised at the Pride of Britain Awards, adding his motivation behind the fundraising work was to uplift people and help those going through hard times.

Money raised from next year's race will help support admiral nurses who go into homes and communities to help families coping with the condition, he said.
