“Shedeur Sanders Will Start At Some Point”: NFL Analyst Has Cleveland Browns Selecting…

The Cleveland Browns have a 2-7 record this season and they are heading towards another top five pick potentially in the 2026 NFL Draft. Cleveland has a lot of uncertainty at the quarterback position on the roster.

For now, rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel remains the starter for head coach Kevin Stefanski. If Gabriel continues to be bad, will he be benched for rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders? That is something that remains to be seen. It would be total malpractice by this coaching staff to not give him a look at all this season. No matter how he performs, it appears as if the Browns are going to draft a quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Josh Edwards of CBS Sports created his latest 2026 NFL Mock Draft. The Browns would currently have the fourth pick. Edwards has Cleveland selecting Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore with this selection. He said,

“Cleveland would be choosing between Alabama’s Ty Simpson and Moore in this scenario. It’s also worth noting that all three quarterbacks mentioned so far still have remaining eligibility. If the Browns can finally land their quarterback of the future, years of frustration will be forgotten. Shedeur Sanders will start at some point this season, but the reality is he couldn’t do enough to deter the franchise from drafting a quarterback.”

Moore is 6’3″ and weighs 206 lbs. He has completed 70.5% of his passes for 1,884 yards, 19 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Moore has also rushed for 177 yards on 44 carries and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 4.0 yards per carry.

He has been climbing up NFL Draft boards. The Browns will certainly a choice potentially between him, Fernando Mendoza of the Indiana Hoosiers, and Ty Simpson of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Cleveland has not gotten the quarterback position right in quite some time. It will be interesting to see if head coach Kevin Stefanski and general manager Andrew Berry will be around making this selection or not.
